WWII Veteran Calls 911 After Heat Gets Unbearable, Police Looks Inside Home And Can’t Leave

Two policemen, William Margolis and Christopher Weir, visited Hatley’s home and saw that he was in utter distress. They then took it upon themselves to visit Home Depot to buy him a new AC unit so that they could install it themselves for the elderly man. Additionally, when Home Depot heard about what the two policemen were doing, they immediately gave them a $150 discount on the unit.

“When we got there around 8:30 a.m,” Margolis said, “his house was 85 to 90 degrees already. In Texas, it gets hot.“ He continued to say, “[Hatley] was actually really excited. He said he knew if he needed help to call 911, and we actually were able to help him, so he was really excited about that.”

This story is one that will give anyone chills up their spine, and it’s simply because two human beings decided to help their fellow man. With Margolis, Weir, and the folk at Home Depot team effort, they managed to lend a helping hand and make a hero feel more comfortable and happy. A big thank you goes to these officers and all that assisted.
